Things to be done when you join UT-Austin (come to the US)

1. Get your student ID
2. Set up your appointment for the health stuff
3. Clear the bar at the International office (attend the orientation) and also get the letter requesting a Social Security Number (SSN) for you.
4. Also get yourself the bus routes for both the capital metro and the UT shuttle. Get a map of UT too.
   Go to the social security office and apply for your SSN
5. Bank issues
   • Open savings and checking accounts.
   • Get yourself an ATM card.
   • Request for your personal checks .
   • Ask about debit/credit cards
6. Don’t forget to call your loved ones in India immediately. (oops make this point number 0 :-) )
