Umesh's Bio "What others think of you; what you think of yourself; what you really are." Umesh Rajashekar received the B.E. degree in July 1998, in Electronics and Communication Engineering from The Karnataka Regional Engineering College, India, and the M.S. degree from The University of Texas at Austin, USA in August 2000. He joined the Laboratory for Image & Video Engineering (LIVE) in the Summer of 2000 and received his Ph.D. degree in Fall 2005. He continued as a postdoctoral fellow at LIVE until August 2006 working on a project for Autim. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Laboratory for Computational Vision under Prof. Eero Simoncelli at the New York University. He was the Assistant Director of LIVE from Fall 2001 to Fall 2005. His dissertation involved investigating image statistics at the point of gaze. His interests also include developing didactic tools for education. He was awarded the 2000-2001 Texas Telecommunications Engineering Consortium Graduate Fellowship and the Lloyd A. Jeffress fellowship in Summer 2004. |
