The Visual Neuroscience Laboratory is devoted to the study of the function and
development of the mammalian visual system. The laboratory is located in the Center for Neural Science
at New York University.
Work in the laboratory involves behavioral and biological studies of vision in nonhuman primates,
psychophysical studies in human observers, and complementary theoretical studies.
The laboratory is jointly directed by
Lynne Kiorpes (Prof.
of Neural Science and Psychology),
Michael J.
Hawken (Prof. of Neural Science),
Najib Majaj
(Research Assistant Professor of Neural Science) and,
J.Anthony Movshon
(Prof. of Neural Science and Psychology; Professor of Ophthalmology and of Neuroscience and
Physiology, and Investigator in the Neuroscience Institute -- NYU Langone).
