Demonstrations: Retina
1. The blind spot. The portion of the retina where the
ganglion cell fibers exit the eye is devoid of receptors, and hence is
blind. This area is medial in each eye, and hence represents
areas to the right of you in your right eye, and to the left of you in
your left eye. A demonstration of this blind spot is in
your textbook as figure 2.15 (page 45).
