Research scientist at the NASA Ames Research Center (1990-1991). Assistant Professor at Stanford University (1991-1998). Associate Professor at Stanford (1998-2002). Over 130 journal papers; 6 US patents. David Marr Prize in computer vision (1987). Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship (1994). Troland Award in psychology from the National Academy of Sciences (2002). Margaret and Herman Sokol Faculty Award in the Sciences, New York University (2006).
