System Requirements

Acrobat Pro DC for Mac OS® X requires the following:

·         Mac Intel® processor

·         Mac OS X version 10.9, 10.10

·         1 GB of installed RAM

·         2.75 GB of available hard disk space (Note: The space includes the installer size if you purchased a download package. In addition, the installer creates temporary files during installation so the actual hard disk space required at that time is greater than the value listed.)

·         Safari 7.0, Safari 8.0

Installation Instructions

Before you can start Acrobat, you must install Acrobat onto your hard drive.

Use the following instructions to install new software or to upgrade from a previous version. If you are installing an upgrade, you may be required to provide proof of ownership.

To install Acrobat DC in Mac OS

1. Close all other applications

2. Be sure to uninstall any other version of Acrobat or Reader before installing. Note: If you have any dock shortcut for Acrobat please remove that shortcut also; otherwise it will point to an unavailable location.

3. Connect the machine to the Internet.

4. Start the installation:

·         If you purchased Acrobat on a DVD, insert the DVD in the DVD drive to view the application files.

·         If you purchased Acrobat as a download, double-click the DMG file to mount the image file as a volume. Adobe recommends you back up your download package, preferably to a DVD, before installing the software.

5. Double-click the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC installer package (.pkg) to begin the installation. Click “Continue”.

6. The next screen shows this Read Me file. Click “Continue” when ready.

7. The License Screen displays and requests you to enter your serial number. If you are using the product in Trial mode or have purchased a subscription you do not need to enter a serial number. If you will be entering a serial number, be sure the machine is connected to the internet since online serial number validation will be done.

8. Enter the serial number for your copy of the program. The serial number of individually licensed purchases is located on the outside of the DVD case, or on the receipt page for ESD (electronic software delivery) purchases made online, for example, through the Adobe Store. You can also locate the serial number for individually licensed ESD purchases in your online order history at http://www.adobe.com. The serial number for purchases made through the Adobe Licensing Website is available in your record at http://licensing.adobe.com.

9. Next, choose your Installation Type. You can select or deselect the product components you wish to install and you can also change the installation path. Click “Install” when ready.

10. When prompted, enter your administrative credentials for the installation to proceed.

11. Once installation is finished, click “Close”.

First Launch and Adobe ID Entry Instructions

1. By default Acrobat is installed in “/Applications/Adobe Acrobat DC” or “/Applications/Adobe Acrobat 2015” directory. Go to this directory and launch Acrobat.

2. On application launch, the Sign in Required dialog appears. Click Sign In Now and provide a valid Adobe ID in the Sign In screen.

3. If you don’t have an Adobe ID, follow the prompts to create one.

4. Click “Sign In”.

5. Next, accept the end user license agreement. Acrobat should now be usable.
