Registration Procedures

Please refer to the NYU Class Schedule for tuition, fees and payment and reimbursement deadlines, and to the GSAS Bulletin for procedures and regulations.

Directions for Registration:
  • Selecting courses: Ph.D. students should meet with their advisory committee and obtain approval to register on the TorchTone form.

  • Registration forms: Some Ph.D. courses are restricted, which means they require permission from the Department in the form of access codes. Students registering for Neural Science courses should fill out a Torch Tone form, receive any necessary permission and see Maeve O'Connell for access codes.

  • Telephone registration: After receiving access codes, follow the directions on the back of the TorchTone registration form to register. You will need your Student ID and PIN numbers, and a touch-tone phone. If you do not know your PIN, you can call the Registrar at 998-4290. New students can choose a 4-digit PIN, which will be used for all future TorchTone access.

  • There is an inter-university cross-registration arrangement for graduate students who attend any one of several graduate schools in the New York metropolitan area. The schools are COLUMBIA, FORDHAM, CUNY, NEW SCHOOL AND NYU. Students who are enrolled in graduate programs at any one of the schools listed may register for courses at any other. Tuition for the course is assigned to the school in which the student is enrolled; no addition costs are involved for CNS students.

See Maeve for additional information and for the appropriate forms.
