Estimating the parameters of an integrate and fire neuron from random
data
I will discuss a variant of the integrate-and-fire model for analyzing
neural responses to temporal white noise. The particular model
involved (the "Linear-LIF" model) consists of a linear filter followed
by a leaky integrate-and-fire spike generator. I will focus on some
recent work on estimating the parameters of this model in the presence
of noise, which involves several interesting statistical and
computational problems. See my publications
page for some background work.
