Special Topics--Color Vision: Neural Mechanisms
Robert Shapley
This is a seminar about the visual perception of color
and the neural mechanisms in the eye and the brain
that enable us to perceive colors. Topics covered will
include: the phenomenology of color perception; the measurement
of the visible spectrum; cone photoreceptors; cone-opponent
pathways in the retina, Lateral Geniculate Nucleus, and
visual cortex; and color constancy.
