Postdoctoral Positions Available

  1. Postdoctoral Positions to Develop Reliable Neural Prosthetics
    Center for Neural Science
    New York University

A postdoctoral position is available in the Center for Neural Science at New York University for research into neural prosthetic devices that achieve reliable, high-degree of freedom reach-grasp control. The project, a collaboration between CNS at NYU, the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU and the Department of Statistics at Columbia University, will investigate activity in neuronal circuits of the motor and premotor cortices during action execution, action observation and action rehearsal. Experimental work will involve simultaneous multiple area, multiple electrode recordings in behaving animals performing naturalistic tasks in unconstrained settings

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, have a PhD in neuroscience or bioengineering, experimental experience in neurophysiology, and experience programming in MATLAB. They will benefit from state-of-the-art research facilities and a vibrant community at the Washington Square campus of NYU. Salary will follow NIH guidelines commensurate with training and experience.

Please send a letter describing research experience and interests, a CV and contact information for three references electronically to Dr. Bijan Pesaran at bijan [AT] nyu [DOT] edu or to the following address.
