This is one of the best tuned cells we found. Notice that
the time to peak of these cell in layer 2+3 is about 75 msec
which is much later than the time to peak in the cells in the
input layers (4C-alpha and 4C-beta). Also, it is intersting
that this cells shows a Mexican-hat shaped distribution profile:
one can see the central "excitatory" response seems to be riding
on top of a more broadly tuned "inhibitory" component centered
around the same orientation. Almost all cells which very high
orientation tuning exhibited this feature (see a cell in layer 5 below).
